Brand Identity

Background

While Walter Umanzor's passion and appreciation for music dates back to childhood, shelter in place orders during the pandemic sparked his DJ’ing journey. Walter began Zoom work meetings with an energetic mix to lift his team’s spirits and to help begin each meeting on an upbeat note. Doubling down on the shift toward lightness and fun, he’d pair these tracks with random facts, earning the title of Fun Facts from his colleagues.

A custom logotype that features thick, asymmetrical letterforms reflects Fun Facts’ bold and lively presence.

Subtle variations in line widths and lengths represent his dynamic sounds, while askew letterforms capture the vibratory nature and dance culture of electronic music.

Nested letterforms represent people coming together in the shared experience of live music. They’re housed in a rounded polygon, referencing the wide use of shape and geometry in Salvadorian art and murals.

The Logo Story

A vivid, neon palette offers visual energy and reflects Fun Facts’ energetic personality and stage presence. The palette sparks excitement, and their high contrast on dark backgrounds create a striking visual impact while also functioning well in dimly lit venues.

Brand Colors

The icon system was inspired by geometric and shape-based Salvadorian art. The set of diverse and irregular shapes extend the attribute of culture throughout the brand’s identity.

The diversity of shapes allow for modular design, working as building blocks to create geometric illustrations and patterns.
